Becoming a member at Leominster Rifle & Pistol Club

Leominster Rifle and Pistol Club and its range are approved by the Ministry of Defence and Herefordshire Police. As an approved club, we are able to accept applications from people who do not hold a Firearms Certificate. As a responsible club, we make every effort to ensure that our members are fit and proper people to hold Firearms Certificates and our application procedure will necessarily involve some questions which will help us verify that. We are also obliged by law to inform the police of new applicants so that checks may be made on them. A prospective member wishing to join us will not be able to handle firearms on their first visit unless they have completed an application form and the necessary checks completed. New applicants will usually be able to handle firearms under supervision once these checks have been done.

The Home Office require that the probationary period is a minimum of three months; it can be longer.
