![]() History of Leominster Rifle & Pistol Club
In common with many other clubs, Leominster Rifle and Pistol Club began life in WW II with the home guard; also during that early post war time many businesses had their own clubs (Banks, stores, etc). In 1956 the Club was Leominster Midland Electricity Board Rifle club. At about this time, courtesy Dr Beeching, the outdoor range was built and still exists but not used due to changes in certification requirements.
The present 20 yards indoor range was built by the members in 1974, being known as the Pinsley range. Prior to this time the club used the TA range in Leominster, and at sometime during the transition actually shot in an open roofless shed in the Town.
In 2001 the range was refurbished having gained funding from "Awards for All" scheme, this being part of "Sport England."
